Doubts about Jiba’s qualifications

Johannesburg - Deputy director of public prosecutions Nomgcobo Jiba failed to submit copies of her qualifications, raising doubts that she might not be an admitted advocate, the Sunday Independent reported.

Jiba failed for three months to supply the required documentation, according to the report on Sunday.

Officials conducting the probe had also been unable to find her name in any of the high court rolls, the publication reported.

Her failure to submit the documentation along with other top officials, has raised questions within the National Prosecuting Authority regarding her qualification and admission as an advocate.

Jiba failed to answer questions directed to her by the newspaper.

When she was contacted for comment, she said: "I am in a meeting," and hung up, according to the report.

The newspaper reports that the advocates' roll was currently incomplete, so it was not clear if the absence of Jiba's name from the roll was a mistake by the Justice Department or if she was not an admitted advocate.

NPA spokesperson Nathi Mncube said Jiba held an LLB degree, but was unable to furnish the newspaper with her certificate of admission as an advocate.

Justice department spokesperson Mthunzi Mhaga told the newspaper that an auditing process was underway to ensure the names of NPA advocates were on the roll.

The auditing process was expected to be completed in March 2015.

Mhaga said the names of advocates used to be kept manually in a book, but around 2000 the department introduced an electronic system that crashed in 2003.

Jiba's CV, which appeared on the NPA website, said she was an admitted advocate of the high court.

However, it did not indicate in which year she was admitted as an advocate, according to the report.

Why worry?! JZ recently said it is NOT a constitutional requirement to have any qualification to be an MP!!! So what's all the fuss about?! Just bring in all the chaps from your local cafe corner looking for "decent jobs!) and stick them in parliament - I mean after all this just ads a bit of variety to what we already have! A bunch of .............. whatever takes your fancy!

After Paolo J, watch the rest of bogus qualifications fill our front pages. There are plenty of these people filling top positions earning millions. Some won't even have a matric

The writing has been on the wall yet no one wanted to believe/listen... ever seen the domino effect as an apparition, well keep a close eye on the events as they unfold, where every crook in every cranny is exposed by their own stupidity, by the lies they were fed by those who lied before them! BEE was never the answer as it meant that many were forced to conjure up university degrees that they for one never had and secondly, given the embryonic state of our so called rainbow nation, they could never have achieved either... we all knew it but you kept using your trump card, racism to ciunter act against us and look where it's gotten us... we are being globally exposed as a failed state and short of a revolt, no one has what it takes to unite us, especially since the majority have so boldly been lied to.... how disappointing and concerning... please can someone stand up and be counted, take responsibility and start fixing and healing the wounds of injustice and self enrichment... I know, no such luck... shame on you for endorsing this slow yet sometimes immediate poisoning of this once great country (I refer solely to post 1994, while Madiba was our leader, thereafter, shot to hell! And you 62%'ers are guilty of treason, guilty for the state we're in and will be not too long from now!)
