Durban - A war of words has erupted between the ANCYL and the EFF in KwaZulu-Natal with the two organisations trading insults in public.
The ANCYL last week accused the EFF of being bereft of political ideas.
It said the party had resorted to shameful tactics by disrupting President Jacob Zuma’s visit to the National Assembly.
The ANCYL said it will march against the EFF and the courts it accused of bias in Durban next month. The EFF has in turn threatened to march to Nkandla where they will demand that Zuma pay back the money he owes for the upgrades to his home there.
In a colourful media statement on Tuesday, the EFF said the ANCYL was dead and accused the ANCYL of suffering from “acute infantile disorder” and being a “political condom” used in the ANC’s internal factional battles.
“If there were still any doubts lingering about the certain death of what used to be a radical, militant, politically and intellectually astute youth wing of the ANC, the recent piece of fascist hogwash issued in its name is prima facie evidence that indeed the ANCYL is no more,” said EFF provincial chairperson Vukani Ndlovu.
“The not-so-young, ever-drunk retards are threatening to march to the Durban High Court and register their ‘anger’ over what they call opposition parties’ refusal to let President Zuma account to the people of South Africa in the National Assembly.
“The threat to march to the courts of law is a serious threat against the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law and ultimately against the democratic dispensation of this country,” Ndlovu continued.
ANCYL provincial secretary Thanduxolo Sabelo said, “That [EFF] is a Mickey Mouse party. We will stop at nothing to protect the ANC and deal with that Mickey Mouse party.”
