Fourth man arrested for Finetown tavern shooting

Johannesburg - A fourth man has been arrested in connection with the shooting at a tavern in Finetown, south of Johannesburg, that left four people dead, Gauteng police said.

Three men were arrested in Ennerdale earlier on Saturday, while the fourth was arrested later in the day, Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said.

The four were expected to appear in the Vereeniging Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Dlamini said on Saturday that local residents "played a big role" in helping police to catch the men.

The group allegedly went into the tavern on Friday night and randomly fired shots with an assault rifle, before fleeing the scene.

The deceased were Siphosakhe Dlamini, Xolani Fiva, Lemewane  Mokhele and Vusi Mokhele. Their ages have not been confirmed yet.

Four other unidentified victims have been hospitalised.
