Johannesburg - Around 40 000 Viagra tablets were seized by customs officials at the Johannesburg International Mail Centre, the SA Revenue Service said on Tuesday.
Sars spokesperson Luther Lebelo said the officials noticed two suspicious boxes during an inspection at the centre on Monday.
The packages were sent from Hong Kong.
"According to the declaration on the outside of the two boxes, the goods were falsely declared as plastic toys."
Lebelo said customs officials profile packages in the centre during their inspections to determine which are suspicious.
