Mbombela - The fraud trial of Mpumalanga Hawks boss Major Simon Mapyane has been postponed to December.
Mapyane, 53, was not asked to plead to six counts of fraud when appearing in the Nelspruit Regional Court on Wednesday, according to a Sapa correspondent.
"The case will be postponed for the last time [before trial] because the defence lawyers are ready. They had financial problems with the accused. However, it is now sorted," said Magistrate Venessa Joubert.
Mapyane's charges relate to false travelling claims involving six trips.
Joubert extended Mapyane's R1 000 bail and postponed the case to 3 December.
