Cape Town - The Western Cape health department has launched its own investigation into the gruesome murders of the Van Breda family in Stellenbosch in January, after a TV station obtained a recording of a call to emergency services.
Netwerk24's Samantha van den Berg reported on Friday that the department called in the independent forensic investigation unit after the five-minute recording of a call by Henri van Breda, 20, was broadcast on eNCA on 30 January.
His parents, Martin, 54, and Teresa, 55, and older brother Rudi, 22, were found murdered in their house on the upmarket De Zalze golf estate on 27 January. His sister, Marli, 16, was seriously injured and remains under police guard in hospital.
