The little boy’s family, however, are confident that the police will catch his killers, Eyewitness News reported.
A family member of the man in the ID parade said the man was involved in gangsterism but had “never been into hijacking”.
Taegrin's mother, Chantel, who was with him at the time of the hijacking in Reiger Park, attended an identity parade at a police station on Tuesday.
Police have increased a reward for any information that might lead to the suspects’ arrests from R50 000 to R100 000.
Police have also appealed to the community, which is baying for blood, not to take the law into their own hands.
Meanwhile, Taegrin’s mother Chantel told EWN she believes that the Reiger Park community will find peace one day.
Taegrin’s 8-year-old sister, Erin, who was also there when the hijacking happened, said her little brother was her friend and that she loved him.
A memorial service for Taegrin will be held on Thursday and his funeral will be on Saturday.
