Horror crash closes N2, 8 dead

Cape Town - Seven Western Cape correctional services officials were among eight people killed in a collision between a bus and a minibus taxi on the N2 near Swellendam, Western Cape Emergency Services said on Tuesday.

The accident occurred just after 07:00, said spokesperson Robert Daniels.

Daniels could not say how the accident happened. Investigations are continuing.

A section of the highway had been closed to traffic while emergency services worked on the scene.
