I'm not mad, shouts rape accused

Tonga - An Mpumalanga man accused of rape shouted in protest from the dock on Friday while the court was still waiting for his psychiatric test results.

Fanie Ndlovu, 23, of Mangweni village, was appearing in the Tonga Magistrate's Court and has pleaded not guilty to rape, a Sapa correspondent reported.

"I am not mad," shouted Ndlovu from the dock.

People sitting in the public gallery burst into laughter.

Magistrate Sibonisiwe Sibuyi ignored his outburst and remanded him in custody until 1 September.

Ndlovu was arrested on 8 November last year, after a minor was raped at his home.

He has been in custody since then, and was sent for observation at Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital after his previous court appearance.

Excellent news. Now that we have that out of the way, we can just send you to prison where you belong, instead of a mental health institution where you would be released within a couple of months due to *space restrictions*. Keep shouting.

Simple and politically correct test for madness. Lock him up with two very sharp butcher's knives. Simple because even an idiot knows how to kill himself, and politically correct because he has a choice....of two knives. May his departed soul forever be caught in a troubled and fiery time vortex .

Then there is no need for an evaluation...go straight to jail
