Johannesburg - A 14-year-old boy who went on a shooting rampage in Berea, Johannesburg, is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate's Court on Friday.
He faces charges of attempted murder and the possession of an unlicensed firearm after he shot and injured a man and a woman last Thursday.
The youth had gone on a rampage and fired randomly at people injuring the two. He also shot himself in the foot and was taken to hospital under police guard.
He was later released from hospital into his parents’ care.
According to reports, the boy was later moved to a juvenile facility after residents in the area, who feared the boy would attack again, sent a petition to the Hillbrow police station demanding that he be removed.
Police are investigating how he had accessed the firearm, which belonged to his father.
