Johannesburg - A man convicted of raping a 79-year-old woman in Ezibhembeni, Nkandla, has been sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in the Ulundi Regional Court, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday.
Sandile Sifiso Buthelezi, 28, was sentenced on Tuesday, police spokesperson Jay Naicker said.
Shortly after midnight on 1 January this year, the elderly woman was asleep in her home when Buthelezi overpowered and raped her.
