Cape Town – A Kwazulu-Natal man has been given a jail term of 10 years in effect for raping his teenager cousin, police said on Saturday.
The 37-year-old Ceza resident entered her room one evening in March this year and asked what she would do if he raped her, said Major Thulani Zwane.
“The victim told him that she will scream. He then threatened to harm her baby if she screams. He then forcefully undressed and raped her.”
He was arrested the next day after the matter was reported to the local police station.
Zwane said police conducted an “intensive investigation”.
The man was convicted and sentenced in the Ulundi Regional Court on Friday.
