Johannesburg - A 72-year-old man died after falling 10 metres through the roof of a building he and his colleagues were inspecting in Langlaagte, Johannesburg, paramedics said on Friday.
The man died shortly after paramedics arrived on the scene around 18:00 on Thursday, ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said.
"They found the man sitting on a chair in the building. Concerned colleagues and friends explained to paramedics what had happened."
The man was disorientated, Vermaak said.
"While paramedics were busy treating the man he suddenly deteriorated and showed no signs of life."
Attempts to resuscitate him failed and he died on the scene.
