Johannesburg - A man appeared in the Kagiso Magistrate's Court on Monday for allegedly killing his brother, Gauteng police said.
Police received a complaint of murder in Kagiso on the West Rand on Saturday, said spokesperson Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya.
"Upon arrival at the scene they found a group of people gathered on the street. During [the] investigation the police noticed the body of a dead man lying on the street and bleeding," Sibiya said.
"Next to a group of bystanders was a second man, a suspect held down by some members of the community who had made a citizen's arrest."
Sibiya said the deceased allegedly went to his wife's home where he found his brother.
The 28-year-old brother warned the deceased not to come the house anymore.
"An argument ensued between the two brothers which led to them going out of the yard onto the street. The suspect drew a knife and stabbed his brother... [in his] upper body," Sibiya said.
The alleged killer tried to flee but was caught by members of the community. He was arrested and charged with murder.
"He has made a brief appearance at the Kagiso Magistrate's Court today [Monday] and was remanded in custody for further investigation," Sibiya said.
