Man shot and wounded during hijacking

Johannesburg - A man was shot and wounded during a hijacking in Ga-Rankuwa, north of Pretoria on Saturday morning, paramedics said.

"Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man to have sustained life threatening injuries," Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said in a statement.

He was treated on scene and then taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

Police were not immediately available for comment regarding the hijacking.

All individuals injured during crimes such as these ought to be given grade a treatment at the best hospitals at state expense. Since criminals get that anyway and most others do not have full medical aid.

The police should do drastic measures to curb hijackings in SA. A lot of innocent lives have been lost. Police should act now.

Finally the same man passed on at Louis Pastuer Hospital yesterday at about 18:45 after a long battle for his life in ICU... I hope Our Police Commissioner is going to launch manhunt or rewards like she did with Senzo...May your soul rest in peace Mr JHM
