Man trampled to death by elephant

Johannesburg - A man is believed to have been trampled to death by an elephant in the Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage Site in Limpopo, SA National Parks said in Monday.

Rangers in the western part of the park found the body of a Zimbabwean man, in his early 40s, on Saturday, spokesperson Divhani Maremba said in a statement.

"It is believed that he might have been trampled to death by an elephant. A Zimbabwean passport and a cellphone were discovered in his possession."

It was believed he had been with a group of people because a number of footprints were visible nearby.

It's about time that the elephants defend themselves! They are highly intelligent animals and don't forget easily! Another would be poacher bites the dust! Good! An elephant wouldn't do anything like this if it was not threatened !
