Metro cops: Riverlea protesters stoning cars

Johannesburg - A protest by residents in Riverlea, south-west of Johannesburg, is underway on Nasrec Road near the N17, metro police said on Monday.

"There are protesters throwing stones at passing cars and burning tyres," Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes.

The protests began around 06:00, Minnaar said.

Clearly protests are only a stone's throw away. This is absolutely ludicrous. What the hell is going on.

And if a young baby is in a car that they stone? A mother? A sister? Your child? No. Two rounds each I dont care how frustrated they are they do not have the right to do what they are doing.

Why stone cars that have nothing to do with the problem? That is like slapping my neighbour in the face because I got a raw deal at the local spar. They have nothing to do with eachother.
