Johannesburg - Model boss Dawie de Villiers has denied a claim by a former lover that he had threatened to kill one of his alleged assault victims in 2009. The denial was issued by his lawyer on Thursday in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge.
This followed testimony by an ex-girlfriend, a State witness, who told the court she had discovered explicit photographs of a woman on his personal computer that year at the couple's home in Bryanston.
Upon her discovery, she had confronted both De Villiers and the woman in the pictures via e-mail.
"I got her e-mail off his e-mail address and forwarded her the photographs to find out what was going on.
"She responded, telling me there was more to the story and it was not what she had wanted to do. She said Mr De Villiers was forceful and had pushed himself on top of her," the woman told the court.
She said she spoke to De Villiers about the matter and he threatened to murder the woman in the pictures.
"He denied that he had been forceful or pushed her down. He called her a slut and a whore and threatened that he would murder her."
In part of the e-mail conversation read out in court, De Villiers apparently told the woman, "Tell her to go fuck herself. I'm not going to explain myself to such a slut... who took her clothes off so easily... I will murder that slut, believe me."
De Villiers’s lawyer Jaques Pienaar put it to the woman that his client was not the author of the emails.
"The accused is not the author of the email, and we don't know who sent the emails. He was not the administrator of that domain," he said.
Pienaar said his client was on a road tour in Margate at the time.
De Villiers faces 38 counts of rape, sexual assault, indecent assault, sexual grooming, possession and accessing of child pornography as well as fraud and theft. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Court was adjourned until Friday morning.
