Most farms transferred to Limpopo communities still got game - Nkwinti

Limpopo - Most of the farms that have been transferred to local communities in Alldays, Limpopo, are still operating as game farms.

This is according to Rural Development and Land Reform Minister Gugile Nkwinti, who was responding to a written Parliamentary question from the Democratic Alliance.

Responding to Johanna Edwards of the DA, Nkwinti said 35 farms had been transferred to local communities in and around Alldays, Limpopo, for purposes of land reform.

"Ten farms [have been transferred] in terms of the Redistribution Programme and 25 farms in terms of the Restitution Programme."

Nkwinti said most of the farms were purchased as game farms and were still operating as such. The remaining 10 farms were currently operating as livestock farms.
