Tonga - An Mpumalanga man, who stabbed a neighbour to death during an argument over money, was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment by the Tonga Regional Court on Tuesday.
Thulani Titus Mathebula, 25, of Schoemansdal near Malalane, pleaded guilty to murder when he appeared on Tuesday, a Sapa correspondent reported.
He was arrested on 10 November last year after killing Thabisile Bhembe that day.
Magistrate Edgar Moletsane said although Mathebula pleaded guilty and had no previous convictions, his remorse would not bring Bhembe back.
"The information I have here shows that you killed her intentionally even though there is no proof of that. You went to her house carrying a knife and stabbed her after an argument over money she owed you."
