Johannesburg - A Nigerian man appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday after allegedly being caught at OR Tambo International Airport with a chemical used in the making of cocaine, police said.
Abuchi Daniel Osadebe, 28, was arrested shortly after arriving at OR Tambo International Airport from Lagos early on Saturday, Brigadier Vishnu Naidu said.
His luggage allegedly contained 10kg of ephedrine with an estimated street value of R3m. Ephedrine is used in the making of cocaine.
Osadebe’s case was postponed to July 7 for his bail application.
