Johannesburg - One person died and two others were critically injured in Curie Boulevard in Vanderbijlpark in the early hours of Sunday morning, paramedics said.
It is understood that the driver of the vehicle lost control and hit a tree, ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing.
"ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found the badly damaged vehicle. Two women were trapped in the vehicle while a man had been ejected," she said.
"Paramedics assessed the man. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for him. He was declared dead."
Fire and rescue services extricated the women from the vehicle. They were assessed and it was found that they sustained critical injuries.
The women were treated and transported to local hospitals for further treatment.
The cause of the accident was unknown.
Police were investigating.
