Parliament notes Taljaard resignation from IEC

Johannesburg - Raenette Taljaard made an immense contribution to the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC), Parliament's home affairs portfolio committee said on Monday.

"The committee extends its gratitude to Ms Taljaard for the immense contribution she made during her tenure at the IEC, which ensured that the institution continued to deliver credible elections," committee chairman Lemias Mashile said in a statement.

"The committee is of the view that her input contributed to ensuring that the IEC remains an exemplary institution, in Africa and world-wide, on how to run free and fair elections."
