Picture: Man in shock after car crashes into his home

Pietermaritzburg - A man is being treated for shock after a driver who apparently lost control of his car in Kwapata, Pietermaritzburg, fell down an embankment and crashed into the man's home, paramedics said.

The 31-year-old driver was travelling on the Kwapata main road before veering off the road. Paramedics arrived at the scene to find him lying on the ground, ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said. He had sustained moderate injuries.

The owner of the home, who was indoors at the time of the crash, was not injured but was in shock, Bodasing said.

The two were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The exact cause of what led the driver to lose control was not immediately clear and was subject to investigations.
