Johannesburg - Two people died in a plane crash in Newcastle on Monday, KwaZulu-Natal EMS said.
Their light aircraft crashed on a farm and caught alight, igniting the dry grass field, said spokesperson Robert Mckenzie.
"Initial reports are that the plane took off from Newcastle and that it was bound for the Gauteng area," said Mckenzie.
"Sadly both occupants of the aircraft, two men, were found dead on the scene."
Police were investigating the incident.
