Durban - A man has been sentenced to 100 years in jail by the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Durban for several rapes and house robberies committed between 2008 and 2011, police said on Monday.
Sphamandla Sdeme Ndimande, 48, was convicted and sentenced on Friday on five counts of rape and five counts of house robbery reported in Ndwedwe, Nsuze and Tongaat, Major Thulani Zwane said.
"The accused was attacking the community by entering their houses and [raping] the victims. He further took items from the house before he fled the scene," Zwane said.
