Cape Town - The SA Military Health Service (Samil) will soon receive 17 truck-mounted ambulances, Denel Land Systems said on Wednesday.
Denel Land Systems CEO Stephan Burger said the shipment formed part of a R20m contract to deliver ambulances mounted on refurbished Samil 20 trucks.
These trucks were normally used for extreme off-roading.
The ambulances were scheduled for delivery by the end of the month.
The contract was managed by Denel subsidiary Land Mobility Technologies (LMT).
Burger said the acquisition of LMT in 2012 had significantly expanded Denel's range of vehicles and products.
