Cape Town - Ses’khona People’s Rights Movement secretary general Loyiso Nkohla has called for discipline in the days leading up to leader Andile Lili’s court appearance on Wednesday.
"No one will do anything wrong in Andile or Ses’khona’s name. If you do… you are doing it on your own," Nkohla warned.
Nkohla addressed dozens of supporters outside the Bellville Magistrate's Court on Friday after Lili made a first appearance on a charge of inciting violence.
Lili was arrested on Wednesday following his remarks that criminals should be "killed immediately and brutally".
The statements were made outside the court on Tuesday where he was addressing a crowd of supporters during sentencing procedures for the ANC provincial executive member and his eight co-accused during sentencing procedures relating to a poo-throwing incident at Cape Town International Airport in June 2013.
The group had earlier been found guilty of contravening the Civil Aviation Act in February.
Lili was remanded in custody until his appearance next week.
Nkohla appealed to supporters to "not do anything untoward" and to respect the law of the country.
"We are law abiding citizens. We will observe the process and allow the law to take its course."
Members will be mobilised and will attend the proceedings in support of Lili, Nkohla added.
The State said it would be opposing bail when the application is heard on Wednesday, citing the seriousness of the offence and the fact that the statements were made outside the court gates while Lili was out on bail for the poo protest.
