Six buses torched in Nyanga protests

Cape Town - Six buses have been torched in two incidents in Nyanga, during service delivery protests.

Cape Town fire and rescue services spokesperson, Theo Layne, told News24 the situation is extremely volatile and many people were at the scenes.

"In two separate incidents two buses and four buses were set alight," he said.

CapeTalk567 has quoted Golden Arrow bus service as saying that their drivers were removed and beaten before buses set alight.

Layne could not confirm injuries or fatalities at this stage.

According to SAPS public order police have been deployed in the area.

This is a developing story.
