Johannesburg - Six people, two of them children, were killed in an accident on the N11 near the Dundee off-ramp on Sunday evening, paramedics said.

Paramedics arrived to find that six people, including a 4-year-old and an 8-year-old, died in the crash, ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said.

I was the 3rd car on the scene. It was horrific to see the kids dead lying on the road. The speed limit is actually 100KM by the way. It definitely looked like it was an overtaking gone wrong. The loss of life is tragic. My family and I travel that road frequently. All drivers need to be more vigilant, courteous, obliging and tolerant, period. However, what was most heart warming and gave me renewed faith in out country and its people are the scores of people of all races that stopped to help and really did, because they assisted the 4 survivors to get out the vehicle that they were trapped in! In our darkest hour, we came together! Well done RSA!!
