Johannesburg - Six people died and 11 were seriously injured in an accident in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday evening, provincial emergency services said.
"Earlier this evening paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services, responded to the Vryheid/Nongoma road in northern KZN, where there was a crash involving a bakkie, which reportedly overturned," spokesperson Robert Mckenzie said in a statement.
"Sadly six people have died in the crash and paramedics treated a further eleven patients, who had survived the crash. The patients had sustained mostly serious injuries."
The injured were taken to local hospitals, including Vryheid hospital, for further treatment.
Police were investigating the crash.
