Durban - A former Air Force colonel and Umkhonto we Sizwe operative who allegedly killed his wife with a hand grenade in Amanzimtoti at the weekend, will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s court on Thursday.
The 44-year-old stands accused of throwing two grenades at his wife in their Karridene Road home.
One of the devices detonated and ripped through parts of the home.
Letshego Nteke Mohoasa, 33, died as a result of her injuries after being rushed to hospital.
Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said the suspect handed himself over to the Amanzimtoti police on Wednesday, bringing to an end a four-day manhunt.
“A 44-year-old man will appear in court today [Thursday] facing murder, attempted murder and possession of explosives charges,” he said.
