Teen pleads guilty to killing farm couple

Johannesburg - A teenage boy has been convicted of the murder of a farm couple in Limpopo after he pleaded guilty, Beeld reported on Saturday.

The 16-year-old pleaded guilty on Friday to the murders of Will, 69, and Anje Kiesling, 66, as well as the theft of a gun, two cellphones and the couple's bakkie.

He appeared before Magistrate Gerhard Pretorius in the Mokopane Magistrate's Court.

The proceedings were held behind closed doors because the boy is a minor. He is expected to be sentenced on 7 January.

The boy was arrested at his guardian's house in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, in March.

He initially appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court, and the matter was transferred to Mokopane because the bodies of the couple were discovered on their farm near Lephalale in Limpopo.

Police found the bodies after the couple's relatives had been unable to contact them.
