2011-01-19 22:38

Johannesburg - An attack on a 23-year-old resident in the North West town of Madibogo has outraged residents, who are targeting Chinese people in the area they believe are responsible for the assault, the SABC reported on Wednesday.

A Chinese group allegedly targeted the individual for shoplifting from one of their tuckshops in the area. The attack left the injured person in hospital.

Residents demanded that police arrest those responsible for the attack.

They also threatened Chinese people operating businesses in the area, who have since abandoned their premises, SABC reported.
