Polokwane - Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema on Tuesday delivered a long and colourful "thank you" speech outside the High Court in Polokwane where his fraud and corruption case was thrown out.
He was also quick to point out that he could not wait to be back in Parliament on Thursday.
"I want to thank everyone who stood by me and believed in my innocence," Malema said.
"The judge said I am free," he told reporters.
"I want to thank my family, my grandmother in particular who stood by me who always emphasised I am innocent," Malema said, adding that her words were valuable.
"I knew coming from her it is genuine, it is true."
Not celebrities
Malema also thanked his wife, Mantwa, whom he married eight months ago.
"I said to my wife you do not need to accompany me to court, we are not celebrities," Malema said.
"You will continue with your job, I will handle this one," he claimed to have told her.
Malema had given the same instruction to scores of EFF members who had on Sunday held a vigil for him and arrived in court in their numbers on Monday, in support of their leader.
So as Malema emerged victorious from court on Tuesday, it was to a smaller crowd since many of his supporters seemed to have followed his instruction and stayed away from court.
His two aunts, Nurse Malema and Annie Phaleng pitched up at the court on Tuesday morning, despite the Commander In Chief's instruction.
"They don't take instructions," Malema jokingly said.
Earlier, Nurse Malema said they had been praying for this case to be brought to an end.
"We have been continuing with our prayers all the time. We aren't worried, we are free. We are ready for anything," she said.
As Malema left the court a free man on Tuesday, he said he was ready to get to Parliament and carry out his duties.
"On Thursday, I will be in Parliament. Zuma will know us better because we are free," he said.
