Three injured in OR Tambo Airport heist

Johannesburg - Three men have been injured in a heist at OR Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, reports said on Thursday.

Gauteng police told the Citizen newspaper that a cash-in-transit vehicle was leaving the cargo area of the airport at about 05:45 on Thursday when a Mercedes-Benz collided with it.

No shots were fired but three of the van’s security personnel were injured in the collision.

Eyewitness News reports that the gang made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were also unconfirmed reports of three other heists in Gauteng on Thursday morning, says EWN.
