Three nabbed in Fine Town shooting

Durban - Police have made a breakthrough in the Fine Town tavern killings by arresting three men within 24 hours.

“Members of the community also played a big role in making sure that these perpetrators were brought to book. They were arrested at Innerdale this afternoon. A fourth suspects is also being sought as an accomplice,” police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini told News24.

A crack team of detectives launched a manhunt for the men who are responsible for the killing of four people at a tavern in Fine Town late last night.

The attackers entered the tavern and fired shots randomly with an assault rifle. They fled the scene in a white Toyota Quantum with unknown registration number.

“The motive for the shooting is still unknown,” Dlamini said.

The deceased are Siphosakhe Dlamini, Xolani Fiva, Lemewane  Mokhele and Vusi Mokhele. Their ages have not been confirmed yet.

Four other unidentified victims have been hospitalised.
