Phalaborwa - Residents protesting against traditional leadership in the Namakgale area near Phalaborwa in Limpopo have torched three trucks and two bakkies, police said on Monday.

The vehicles were set alight on Sunday night, said Colonel Ronel Otto.
The protest action continued on Monday morning.
"Members of the community [were on Monday] blocking the roads inside the township as well as the R71 between Namakgale and Phalaborwa," said Otto.
Public order police had been deployed to the area.
Otto said no arrests or injuries had been reported this week.
Last week, seven people were arrested.
"One of the detainees died in the police cells," said Otto.
She could not give further details on the suspect's death but said it was being investigated.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate confirmed that it was investigating the matter.
Spokesperson Moses Dlamini said they had to probe whether the man died as a result of police action or inmates in the cells.
"The information we have is that the man died due to an assault by other inmates in the cell. The police have not been implicated," said Dlamini.
