Two accidents at the same place in one day

Durban - Barely an hour after one pedestrian was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on the N2 in KwaZulu, another was fatally killed at almost the same place, paramedics said.

Robert McKenzie, spokesperson for the provincial Emergency Medical Service said: “Where the respective patients were found was literally three metres apart.”

The first man was found lying on the road near Boboyi, about 10km inland from Port Shepstone. The man, in his fifties, was taken to Murchison Hospital to be treated.

Less than an hour later paramedics were called back to the same spot to find that another man, believed also to be in his fifties, had succumbed to his injuries.

Details of the two accidents were not immediately known.

McKenzie urged drivers to exercise caution when driving in the area.
