Uncle arrested after boy decapitated, buried

Cape Town - A 21-year-old man has been arrested in Cape Town after the decapitated body of his 4-year-old nephew was found in a shallow grave.

The Cape Times reported on Wednesday that the man allegedly went into bushes in Khayelitsha with his nephew and returned alone.

He then told community members that the boy was kidnapped by people he did not know, and a search was launched.

However, people noticed blood on his trousers and the man apparently ran away when questioned about this.

A police spokesperson told the newspaper that the man was caught and handed over to police. He then showed them to the shallow grave.

The boy's head was found 50 metres from the rest of his body.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the man was expected to appear in court soon on a murder charge, Sapa reported.
