Vaal man to appear on child sex charges

Johannesburg - A man accused of molesting five teenaged boys is expected to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate's Court on Monday, Gauteng police said.

The 28-year-old man was arrested in Kempton Park, on the East Rand, by the family, child and sexual offences unit on Thursday, Captain Doniah Mothutsane said.

"It is alleged that [the] 28-year-old suspect befriended the victims through internet gaming."

The arrest followed a complaint a week ago by the father of one of the boys who claimed the man had molested his son.

"Four other victims... all aged 15 and from Vanderbijlpark also came forward and alleged that they were molested by the same suspect," Mothutsane said.

The man faces charges of rape, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual grooming and child abuse.
