Cape Town – Two men renting out Oscar Pistorius’s former security estate home in Pretoria plan to convert it into a “party house”.
In a video by Netwerk24, business partners David Scott, aged 33, and Kagiso Mokoape, aged 23, are seen giving a tour of the luxury Silver Woods Country Estate home.
“This is definitely an entertainer’s house. Oscar built this house to entertain,” a grinning Scott said while clutching his sunglasses and a beer.
“Hot girls can invite themselves.”
Mokoape explained they really enjoyed life and entertainment but work came first. In the next breath, he said there would be a party every weekend.
The pair stood in the bathroom where the Paralympian mistook his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp for an intruder and shot her dead on Valentine’s Day 2013.
Mokoape said on the video: “I feel bad for Reeva’s parents and my heart goes out to her family. What he did was wrong. It was never supposed to happen that way.”
After the video was put up on Youtube, Scott took to his Facebook account on Saturday morning to say it conveyed the “totally wrong message”.
“The house is about celebrating life and to be reminded about how precious it is! Not to make a mockery,” posted in Afrikaans.
The post before that said: “Ek lag my dood! Bietjie uit proportion but u know what they say... there's no such thing as bad publicity! He he.”
The Paralympian has spent almost a year behind bars and was initially expected to be released on August 21 to serve the rest of his five-year sentence under house arrest.
However, two days before Masutha announced Pistorius would not be released, saying the parole board had acted prematurely when deciding in June he could be released. Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide following Steenkamp's death.
He killed her in his Pretoria home on Valentine's Day 2013, claiming he mistook her for an intruder.
The double-amputee track star was also sentenced to another three years, suspended for five years, for discharging a firearm at Tasha’s restaurant in Sandton, Johannesburg, in January 2013.
According to eNCA, the Kgosi Mampuru II prison parole board on Friday postponed a hearing into his parole until October 21.
