Woman, 73, found tied up in Morningside home

Johannesburg - A woman was found tied up in her Morningside home on Friday morning, where she was left by robbers who attacked her two days ago.

The 73-year-old woman’s gardener found her, Eyewitness News tweeted. She was treated by paramedics as she was severely dehydrated, EWN reported.

She says the two men took money, jewellery and other valuables.

Police are on the scene and she is receiving trauma counselling.

Does nobody care about anybody anymore. Without living in and out of each others pockets, surely someone would have noticed that this dear lady was not around. I am sure she would have had a routine of going to the shops, or something. I cannot believe that it took two days for anyone to notice. Suppose that comes with living behind big walls and locked doors. Where are the days where we had open plots and a security gate was never heard of. Honestly. Let this be a lesson, if you have an older person in your life, check on them. You could prevent delays like this.

Sad story. She can consider herself lucky though that she didn't get murdered. No country for elderly people. Sadly.

How can we rid this beautiful country of these parasiting scavengers?? Their parents mu8st be cursed to have off springs like that!! Imagine sitting in their homes, and them bragging to their own children at the dinner table "Children, I made you all proud today, by robbing, beating and tying up an old 73 year lady in her own home"

This story is not about race, you do not even know who the perpetrator is! Racists must just leave our beautiful South Africa for good! As for letting them out of their cages - you really believe that you, out of the goodness of your hearts, let them out of their cages, don't you...
