Woman arrested for fraud while in bank

Johannesburg - A woman was arrested for fraud while trying to open a savings account at Capitec Bank in Soweto on Wednesday, Gauteng police said.

The 32-year-old allegedly used an identity document linked to other fraud cases, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

"She is allegedly working with a group of people in town [Johannesburg central], who are... giving her false pay slips to go and open accounts.

"They are pretending to work for a certain company that does not exist. We are investigating the matter."

She was due to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - if there's a way to scam the system, they'll know about it. Wish they'd use their qualities for better things!
