Johannesburg - A woman was killed when she was hit by a car on the R57 Golden Highway in Vanderbijlpark on Friday night, paramedics said.
"[Paramedics] found the body of a female lying roughly 30 metres away in the slow lane of the highway," ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.
"It is believed that the driver failed to notice the pedestrian crossing the highway."
The woman was declared dead on the scene.
The driver and passenger of the car which hit her were uninjured.
