Johannesburg - Cancer is emerging as a major public health problem, not only in South Africa, but in Africa as a whole, President Jacob Zuma said on Saturday.
"The women in Africa suffer in many cases from... the fear and stigma associated with cancer," he said in a speech prepared for delivery at the launch of the "Warriors Walk for Cancer" initiative by his wife Tobeka Madiba Zuma's foundation.
Zuma said women with cancer often suffered discrimination in their communities, ostracism by their partners and painful deaths due to the disease.
