Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma has appointed three acting Constitutional Court judges, the presidency said on Tuesday.
"[Zuma] appointed three judges to act as judges of the Constitutional Court during various periods, due to the vacancy which occurred and vacation leave of one of the judges... in order to ensure that there is an appropriate quorum at all times," spokesperson Mac Maharaj said in a statement.
KwaZulu-Natal High Court Deputy Judge President Achmat Jappie will be acting from 1 February to 31 March.
Supreme Court of Appeal Judge Zukisa Tshiqi would be acting from 1 April to 31 May, and Judge President of the Free State High Court division Mohube Molemela from 1 February to 31 May.
