Mahikeng – Two toddlers were killed in a fire that razed a shack to the ground in a village near Mahikeng in the North West province on Thursday night.
Police were investigating the cause of the fire which resulted in the death of the brothers, aged one and two.
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane said the incident occurred at Ikopeleng village in Ramatlabama.
"Their mother was allegedly not in the house at the time of the incident, but she was later taken to the police station for questioning," Motswenyane said in a statement.
The cause of the fire was still unknown.
