Johannesburg - A detector dog has sniffed out cocaine with an estimated R2.1 million at OR Tambo International, the South African Revenue Services said on Sunday.
Sars spokesperson, Sandile Memela, said 7.8kgs of cocaine was hidden in hair treatment bottles that were travelling from Sao Paulo via Johannesburg to Cape Town.
The drugs, six of which were bottles of “anti-frizz hair treatment” tested positive for cocaine.
The narcotics were found and seized on Saturday.
The matter was handed over to the police for further investigation.
