Durban - Two cyclists were fatally injured after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday morning.

According to the KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services it is believed the men were part of a group of about 40 cyclists travelling on the M4 Ruth First Freeway.

The incident resulted in the closing of the northbound carriage way.

“Paramedics from the Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services, and paramedics from a local private ambulance service responded to the scene. Tragically the men, both aged about 40 years old, have sustained fatal injuries.”
